We arrived at Centenial West the second floor room 202 at around 8:20ish. The house opened at 8:30. There were at least 15 people already in line; I thought we were going to be early. A lady came out she was the house manager and told us to turn off cell phones, beepers, and take noisy children outside. She also told us to not touch the Gallery glass, when we got into the room. I had no clue what she was talking about. My friends and I went and sat down towards the back. There were only 50 seats in the room for this side stage play. My brother James was the assistant director and his friend Nate was the director. 15 minutes before the show started they had sold out the house. Even though you didn’t have to pay, admission was free you just needed to arrive early enough for a seat. I talked to my brother for a while about the play and everything, he shared with me that his girlfriend Michelle made the playbill, which I thought was cool. I asked why there was blood splattered all over the cover. All he said was “you’ll see…” This was true as soon as the play started I realized why. The lights went off and the sound of a thunderstorm could be heard. The door on the left opened and a guy walked out. Once the lights came on he was staring at a chair with a broom in his hand. I shortly figured out that he was the riddler. I only figured this out because when he was talking to the invisible person in the chair he said, “Riddle me this…” The lights went out once more after he finished talking to the unknown person in the chair. I am pretty sure he was unknown to only me, because I don’t really follow batman or the villains. A split second later after the lights went out a scream was heard, like a bloody murder scream. I was right, someone was murdered, and it was the security guard that was seen before the play even started. The whole play was made around the villains from the batman movies and comics. I only recognized the names joker, riddler and poison ivy. My favorite character was joker, he was hilarious I guess that goes without saying, hence the name. Poison Ivy had asked him why he killed the guard peacefully. His answer was “why not…” Later the riddler asked him a question that he also asked all the other characters. A boy is at his father’s funeral and when they lay the casket in the ground he sees a demonic face in the dust that rises from the ground. A week later he kills his mother, why? All of the other characters had answered that he wanted to see the face again. Joker answered the riddle with “why not…” Joker is really the only character that everyone is afraid of, only because no one ever knows what he is going to do. He is so very random, it made me think of our English class and sometimes how very random some things we say in there are. The play overall was very well acted and very entertaining. I really like the way that CJ Tuor writes; the last play I saw of his was amazing as well. I can’t wait for another one! I think one day we will see him making really famous movies that the whole world will enjoy.
